GIPHY Ads
To make this possible, we had to build a system that didn’t exist: one that maps intent-driven search queries to branded creative, delivered natively within GIF results. I led the development of GIPHY’s ad server and the broader ads suite, defining everything from the ad products themselves to the intricate tools used to rank and display them. The core challenge was translating a fundamentally unique ad model into a scalable and intuitive product, designed for sales + ad ops to actually run a business. The result was an end to end platform that operationalized GIPHY Ads, making $10M ARR in the first year and much more since then.
